Hiking & Biking

​

No matter which season you visit, the Hudson Valley exudes tranquil pastoral beauty everywhere you go. Embark on an amazing mountain hike along a ridge with panoramic views. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, scale a cliff! You can even go mountain biking or pedal over the Hudson River on the breathtaking Walkway Over the Hudson.

Saint Hubert’s Lodge has miles of hiking trails right on our property. You can take a leisurely stroll around one of our ponds, walk through our peaceful woods, or hike to our private orchard, where the hilltop views of the surrounding vineyards will make you feel like you’re standing in Tuscany.

Fishing

​

For those in search of a tranquil setting, the three ponds on our property are beautifully kept and are well stocked with fish. Enjoy a quiet picnic lunch in our pondside pavilion followed by a peaceful afternoon of fishing. You can bring along your own poles and tackle or rent fishing gear from the Lodge. Private fly fishing lessons can be arranged by contacting us directly prior to your arrival.

History permeates the beautiful Hudson Valley. You’ll discover a wealth of rich history within a short distance of Saint Hubert’s Lodge. The important past of New York and the greater United States is represented in many different forms here. From museums that collect artifacts from times gone by to historical sites commemorating famous presidents and opulent homes, history enthusiasts will delight in the abundance of places to visit. Be sure to take some time to visit West Point or stop by the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library.

There’s no need to travel to the West Coast to enjoy great wine. Tour hundreds of local wineries, breweries, and cider mills and to find your next favorite blend. Visit the first distillery opened in New York after prohibition, or travel down a wine trail that takes you through some of the most scenic and beautiful countryside you can imagine.

The Hudson Valley is home to countless restaurants. From fine dining to eclectic fusion eateries, there is something to please every palate. Dine at a quality farm-to-table restaurant, or visit a restaurant run by the nearby Culinary Institute of America. Our area is also known for its fruit orchards, which give way to incredible festivals that revolve around harvesting fresh apples, peaches, pears, and several vegetables.
